“Now, some will not recognize these difficulties as theirs; or it will take them time to recognize them. But this is what philosophy is all about: recognizing the difficulties as your own (and recognizing the failure to recognize them as yet another difficulty).
“Those who do not recognize those difficulties as theirs will not see the point of this discussion. And this doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to say something. No. But as long as they don’t share the difficulty—share the human perplexity with philosophical questions, share the human vulnerability to philosophical questions—they won’t be able to speak to the matter.
“So your task is to make those questions your own—show yourself that you are lost in those issues.”
